
Management
Structure This section explains the rights, responsibilities and duties
of each structure including TAMWA AGM, Governing Board, Executive Director, Convenors
and Staff. Annual General Meeting (AGM) Composition All TAMW
A members constitute the AGM, Secretariat, FemAct Members and other groups and
individuals can be invited to attend the AGM as observers. Only bona fide and
paid up TAMW A members can vote. The list of T AMW A members is given as an annex
to this plan document. The role of AGM TAMW A AGM is the overall
policy making and visionary organ of the organization. AGM is held annually. It
used to be held in December but the 2001 AGM changed. Now it will be held in March
every year. The main function of the AGM include: - To elect and dissolve
the Governing Board
- To approve the admission or dismissal of member
- To
approve Annual Report and Audited Accounts
- To ratify the Annual Plan
and Budget presented by the Board
- To provide vision and support to overall
direction of the program
Governing Board The Governing
Board oversees the implementation of policies and provides operational guidelines
for the organization on behalf of the AGM. The board meets quarterly, but can
convene for urgent business in an extra-ordinary board meeting. The main function
of the board include: - Providing overall direction of the organization
- Receive
and approve plan and programs, annual reports for review before they are submitted
to the AGM
- Hire and fire management where necessary
Composition
of TAMWA governing Board. TAMWA Governing Board is composed of the following categories:
- Two members from Zanzibar
- Five members form the Mainland
Secretariat The day to day operations of T AMW A are
vested in the hands of Secretariat headed by Executive Director and assisted by
Program Heads, various officers and Support Staff.
