TAMWA
was one of the implementing agents of the campaign undertaken under the auspices
of the Tanzania Commission for AIDS and the National AIDS Control Programme. Other
stakeholders are Health Scope, AfricaALive, Clouds FM, USAID, Ireland Aid and
John Hopkins University / Population Communication (JHU/PC). Some activities of
this programme, which had been launched in the previous year, were undertaken
in 2002. The major ones were assessing media performance in relation to educating
and sensitising young people, girls and boys that they are at risk of contracting
HIV and thereafter issue awards.
